NEW PROJECT: The V&A Fashion Gallery is changing!
The Fashion Gallery at the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington is set for a landmark transformation. With generous support from Burberry, the space will be closed to the public for 2 years, while works happen to completely reimagine the space. It will reopen in Spring 2027 as The Burberry Gallery—a major redevelopment of one of the museum’s most iconic and visited spaces.
Greenway Associates are proud to be the appointed Quantity Surveyor for both the Basebuild and Exhibition works. We are excited to see this new chapter for the V&A come to fruition!

Warren Lisher will be the Lead QS for the Basebuild works, while Asher Mehmet and Jared Mensah will form the QS team for the Exhibitions works.
The works will involve the full demolition of the mezzanine structure and a complete reconfiguration of the gallery, marking the first major structural overhaul of the gallery since 1962.
The Victoria and Albert Museum's Fashion Gallery has long been a cornerstone for fashion enthusiasts, researchers, and designers alike. Housing one of the most comprehensive fashion collections in the world, it spans over four centuries and includes more than 14,000 garments and accessories.
As it prepares to enter a bold new era as The Burberry Gallery, this iconic space will continue to inspire the next generation of designers and fashion lovers from around the world. Joshua Schulman, CEO of Burberry, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating it "marks a milestone moment for British arts and culture." Greenway Associates are proud to be part of this important next chapter.
